Connect your Windows laptop to the desk via USB-C
What does a USB-C port look like?
The USB-C port is an oval port and smaller than a USB-A. Additionally, the USB-C connector is symmetrical, allowing you to insert a USB-C plug into the USB-C port in two ways.
USB-C on Windows laptop
Next to the ports on a Windows laptop, there are symbols/logos indicating what you can do with the port.
- If there is a thunderbolt symbol (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port? Then you can charge and transmit a video signal through this port. This means you can connect a monitor to this port. This port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- If there is a 'D' symbol (Display Port) next to the USB-C port? Then you can transmit a video signal through this port and thus connect a monitor. This port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- If there is a battery symbol next to the USB-C port? Then you can charge your laptop through this port. This port does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
