Next to the ports of a Windows laptop, there are symbols/logos that indicate what you can do with the port.
- Is there a lightning bolt symbol (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port? Then you can charge and transmit a video signal through this port. This means you connect the monitor to this port. This port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- Is there a 'D' symbol (DisplayPort) next to the USB-C port? Then you can transmit a video signal through this port and connect a monitor. This port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- Is there a battery symbol next to the USB-C port? Then you can charge your laptop through this port. This port does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Options 1 and 2 can be used at Mr. Green Boutique Offices.
